Why is kellen moore so underrated

He's an incredible athlete and definitely cut down on the mistakes last season -- I'm just not sure I'd take him with a high first-round pick. I certainly wouldn't take him before Alabama teammates Courtney Upshaw , Dont'a Hightower or Mark Barron , which seems like a possibility. Granted, the first thing I'd do is bulk him up a bit and move him to safety, but Hayward is currently ranked behind seven to nine other cornerbacks.

It's hard to overstate just how impactful he was for the Commodores, particularly last season, when Vandy improved from to with a bowl appearance largely on the strength of its aggressive defense. Hayward was the key piece, notching seven interceptions and 10 pass break-ups. I'd like to see him sneak into the second round. It surprised me to see the four-year starter sneak into Peter King's projected first round.

Smith certainly got the most out of his ability at Notre Dame and was often the rare bright spot on a defense that struggled mightily his first three years. I could see him playing his way into an occasional starting role in the NFL, but a first-round pick means that a team sees Smith becoming a long-term starter and possibly a star.

Most Notre Dame on NBC viewers saw a few too many missed tackles and blown assignments to share that opinion. The Cowboys ' defense took criticism for allowing a lot of yards in its run to a record and Big 12 title last season, but the unit performed better than most realized in large part by forcing a nation's best 44 turnovers. Martin was one of Oklahoma State's better playmakers, and Coach Mike Gundy considered him one of the best defenders to come through Stillwater.

A knee injury just after the season limited his workouts and likely affected his stock -- he's currently projected to go around the fourth round -- but I'd put Martin up there with any safety prospect besides Barron. D'Ernest Johnson has a great opportunity to flex his skills with the Browns' depleted at running back. Tua's injury bout continues as he recovers from a fractured middle finger, but remains active. Pat Freiermuth has skyrocketed from high-potential rookie to TE1 in these Week 10 rankings.

Hunter Renfrow climbs into the top as the Raiders regroup at the wide receiver position. Christian McCaffrey is healthy and playing, but he isn't the top-ranked RB this week!

Russell Wilson returns to the huddle for a tough matchup against the Packers. Home NFL. SI Recommends. The Cowboys lost both of those games, despite Kellen throwing for yards and three touchdowns in his last ever NFL action. Some questioned if that was a little premature, but this organization saw something in him that they wanted to keep around. That job only lasted one season as Moore was then promoted to offensive coordinator where he has quickly established himself as one of the best young coordinators in the league.

And just when many are starting to appreciate him, the writing on the wall is that this brilliant young offensive mind is likely heading west to become the new head coach of Boise State. While that is good news for Moore as he cashes in on a great opportunity, this is going to be a huge blow for the Cowboys.

Flashback to when the team lost their linebackers coach Matt Eberflus as he was hired to be the defensive coordinator of the Indianapolis Colts. The Cowboys are going in the wrong direction defensively. While it turned out bad for Dallas, it ended up being a great move for the Colts as their defense was struggling under their previous defensive coordinator Ted Monachino. Here are the Colts defensive ranks over the last five seasons.

I say steal the San Jose Coach lol. Kelley Moore is most likely top choice and would leave in a heartbeat. His parents live here and also his dad was a coach and Kellen was trained under some great coaches. He may end up leaving the Cowboys, but if he does it will be for a head coaching position in the NFL Detroit? He should stay in the NFL where he can focus on football and not have to deal with recruiting and all the other non-football things college coaches have to deal with.

Could be interesting. Fans in Boise seem to hope maybe Chris Petersen would come back as the AD as he still has a house in Boise apparently.

He currently is a football consultant for the University of Washington. Kellen becoming a head coach could also provide him the opportunity to coach with his brother as I am sure he would need a WR coach.

Both should never have been coaches for any team, let alone the Cowboys!!! This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. Moore was not shy about implementing pre-snap motion and play-action passes, which also helped the team a lot. The Cowboys were doing great when using play-action, but for some reason, they walked away from it. According to Sharp Football Analysis, the Cowboys went when using play-action at least at the league average while going when using play-action less than the league average.

It becomes difficult to put a finger on why decision making was so poor at times for the Dallas Cowboys. In just one season he took a talented group of players that appeared to be going to waste under Linehan and turned it into one of the best offenses in the NFL.

With CeeDee Lamb joining the ranks and McCarthy bringing in analytics knowledge to the coaching staff, Moore is expected to coordinate one of the best units in the game once again. If Moore is able to play his cards right, he might have a chance at a head coaching gig not so long from now.

Too soon, I know but think about it. He has a talented group of players that should be able to execute and put his work on the map. After all, team executives around the league seem to be more willing to give young coaches a change than before. I love to write, I love football and I love the Dallas Cowboys.

I've been rooting for America's team all the way from Mexico ever since I can remember. If you want to talk football, I'm in You'll find me at MauNFL.
